A unique opportunity to invest in this personally signed, limited edition, replica ice axe faithfully reproduced from the original used by Sir Edmund Hillary on 29th May 1953 on the first ascent of Mount Everest in Nepal.
The original axe donated by Lady Hillary in early 2008 can be seen in Auckland Museum, New Zealand and is the first time this iconic axe has been put on public display. The original, made by Claudius Simond, Chamonix, France was purchased before the 1951 New Zealand Himalayan expedition. It was made from a European ash handle and forged head and spike.
