Eddie Irvine's (affectionately called: "Irv the swerve", "Steady Eddie" and "Fast Eddie") Profile
Born on 10th November 1965 in Newtownards, County Down, Northern Ireland; this colourful and charismatic driver's professional racing career started in 1983 with Formula Ford before moving to F3000 in 1989. He joined the Jordan F1 team in 1993 racing in the Japanese Grand Prix. With growing status in the sport he was signed by the Ferrari F1 team partnering Michael Schumacher in 1996. Ferrari being one of the longest-running and most successful F1 teams of all time. 1999 was his most successful season winning four races and taking the Drivers' Championship. In 2000, he left Ferrari for the Jaguar Racing team.
